JOÃO VASCO FERREIRA

João Vasco Ferreira began his classical guitar studies at the Palmela Regional Conservatory, where he studied with professors Marco Rodrigues and John Fletcher. In 2015, he enrolled at the Lisbon School of Music, where he studied classical guitar with António Jorge Gonçalves and chamber music with professors Fernando Fontes, Nuno Inácio, and Paulo Pacheco.
Later, he pursued a Master’s degree in Music Education (guitar), studying with professors Paulo Vaz de Carvalho and Pedro Rodrigues. Throughout his academic career, he also attended masterclasses with Dejan Ivanovic, Michalis Kontaxakis, Frank Bungarten, Fábio Zanon, and Andrea Vettoretti.
As a concert artist, he has performed solo and in chamber music formats with guitar quartets and duos with flute, violin, and voice. He also participated in the solo recital series “Masters of Lisbon: Guitar” from 2018 to 2020 and in events such as the Gulbenkian Museum Promenade Concerts, Setúbal Music Festival, Urban Art Showcase, and the International Music Festival “Palmela, Land of Culture.”
In 2019, he released the album “João Vasco Ferreira,” featuring interpretations of the works that had most influenced him up to that point.
He teaches at the Sons e Compassos Music Conservatory and the Lisbon Music Academy.
